The application for the Egyptian Spouse Visa is pretty straightforward compared to other types like tourist visa, etc. I don’t understand why this information is so hard to find on the internet. Like for real, we keep searching and nothing. However, since we just applied recently (July 2025), let me share with you everything that I know so far.
I know getting the list of requirements is very easy but preparing them can be kind of tricky, so I will be sharing with you as well how we prepared our documents and probably FAQs for you. If you still have questions afterwards that I can probably answer, don’t hesitate to leave a comment below and I would be happy to answer it (if I know, of course! Duh.)

Final Friendly Reminders Before Your Submit Your Visa Application
You’re almost there! Just a few things to keep in mind as you head to the Egyptian Embassy:
- 🧳 No need to book flights or hotels just yet! The Embassy does not require any travel reservations before your visa application. Focus on getting your paperwork ready first.
Drop-Off Details
- Embassy submission hours: Monday to Thursday, 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.
- Closed on holidays (so double-check before heading over!)
- 🎉 And here’s a little win—no appointment needed! Just walk in with your documents and a confident smile.
By the way, one thing you need to know is that my visa application is free! The only thing we paid for is the authentication of our marriage certificate in Egypt which is Php 3,200. Also, they do not accept other modes of payment aside from cash so make sure to have something in your pocket.
Here’s How We Prepare Our Documents
Visa Application Form
Just print it blank, make couple of copies and do it handwritten. I made 2 copies myself and messed up the first one so I used the 2nd one as a backup.
Letter of Invitation
My Egyptian husband is with me so we didn’t have to email a scanned copy with his passport, he brought his passport with him to the embassy and he made the invitation letter handwritten like the application form. We called prior to application and we were advised that handwritten is better. Here is the sample letter we used with our application.
And that’s pretty much it. Very straightforward. Regarding the DFA marriage certificate with apostille, I will make a separate article for it on how you can get one if you don’t have one yet.
Once we submit everything, they told us that everything will be ready in 1-2 weeks.
I hope this helps in anyway, if you have any questions that I might be able to answer, don’t hesitate to drop it below so other people who might have the same question as you can browse. For anything private you want to discuss or ask, you can email me at bailey@dahabpeakstravels.org.
Thank you so much!
