Since we got married in Bali, we decided to spend our wedding anniversary also in Bali and I think it will be something we will do every year. Travel to Bali every May for celebration and Holiday. It is the perfect month to go, it is a mix of rainy and sunny season and we completely enjoy every bits of our travel.

For our anniversary, we decided to go to Je Ne Sais Quio located in Semiyak. This place is gorgeous and luxurious. If you ever plan to visit here too, I highly recommend to book ahead of time because they have very limited rooms. We book only for 1 night and we are asking them to extent the next day, but they are already fully booked. I wil share here our full experience in the hotel which on my opinion is perfect for honeymoon/anniversaries.

From Seminyak to Canggu, From Canggu to Seminyak, then Canggu again

Traffic.

Insane traffic.

It was a very bad idea that we went to Canggue before our booking in Je Ne Sais Quio because it was insanely traffic like, it’s no joke! We were in Seminyak upon arrival to Bali where we first stayed at Del Cielo Villas for couple of days and then we moved to Wiras Village afterwards. We plan to stay in Wiras for almost a month which cover most of our stay in Bali, however, since our anniversary is special, of course we look for a different spot to spend our special day.

Before I tell you how the stay is, you have to be mindful of the traffic in Bali so plan accordingly (wink wink~)

Their Honeymoon Package is no longer available but they help us plan our Special Night

Most of the villas and hotels in Bali offers honeymoon package and we are looking forward to booking one in Je Ne Sais Quio but at the time of booking, it is no longer available (they said).

So, what we did is book a villa for 1 night together with a romantic dinner. Their dinner includes entree, main course, dessert and beverages. Also, we book couple’s massage as well. They initially said that we can only book the romantic dinner if we stay for 2 nights, however, since at that time we are decided to just go with 1 night, they gave us an exception.

The people in the hotel are all so friendly, accommodating and the hotel uses hi-technology on all areas! I mean this hotel is 10/10. Booking.com rating says so too!

How Our Day Look Like & About the Villa

So we check in almost 4 pm because we left Canggu like 2pm and the traffic was crazy. The check-in here is a different level. Friendly staff welcomed us upon arrival and they gave us a full tour of the place and how to use everything before they leave us alone (lol). This tour is necessary tho because everything here is automated so for those like me who are not that familiar with modern technology, you may find it difficult to navigate inside without the guide.

There is a full-ass mini bar inside the villa and there are couple of free stuff also, like fruits. Since it is our anniversary they also gave us a free yummy cake with greetings on it. The bed is designed with “Happy Anniversary” and rose petals around it. It was crazy considering we only book for regular room and they go all the way to decorate it for us.

We had our spa around 5pm and our romantic dinner around 8pm.

Our dinner is soooo good, like for real. Here is the meal set we got:

  • Vegetable Samosa
  • Prawn Croquettes
  • Butter Chicken
  • Charcoal Chicken
  • Cheese Cake
  • Apple Juice
  • Pineapple Juice
  • Naan Bread

If you are curious what are the food options they have for the romantic dinner, I have attached below the menu they sent me, this is from May 2025 so if you are reading this from future date, you may contact them directly as it is possible for them to change it anytime.

We enjoy the stay the whole time even tho I am very sick at the time. They have a cute little pool in there and the music is loud so it’s like we’re having party during the stay. Lots of plugs in there as well and most of it is universal. Have I mentioned yet that they have a coffee machine in there? As a coffee lover, I was inlove. This is the 2nd place we stayed at that offers a coffee machine inside the room. The first one is Parisian Macau.

Anyway, the next day, we had our breakfast the latest time possible which is 11am and they accommodated us very well. Below as well is their menu for breakfast for your reference.

What we ordere is American breakfast but since we don’t eat pork, they gave us an option to replace the pork ones with either beef ham, chicken sausages or hashbrown. We chose beef ham. And then, we got mango smoothie bowl as well. For the beverage and sides, we had danish and pineapple and corn flakes with ice cappucino.

The Spa

Okay, I have to put this on a separate topic because we are not really impressed with their spa. I mean, it is not that bad but since we just came back from Borneo, the difference in Borneo spa vs. Bali spa is huge. Borneo spa is so hard, we got body ache for a week while the Bali spa is so light, very light.

For your reference, here is their spa menu.

I believe it can be improved, with this level of accomodation, the spa spot is kinda falling off. I think they can improve the ambiance of the spa rooms a bit. They should have kept us there after the massage for a bit, you know at least give a different relaxing experience, hot towel with tea to relax us a bit. However, they send us back to the room right after the massage and they send us the tea in the roo also.

Not to compare but I think Nexus in Borneo wins the #1 in spa service.

How Much Did We Spent In Total

We book the hotel separately in Booking.com and 1 night costs us Rp2,295,216. The dinner and spa is separate costs and we book with them directly.

For the spa, we paid Rp786,500.

For the romantic dinner, they gave us a discount because we don’t drink wine and we paid only Rp2,420,000. The original pricing is Rp3,630,000.

Excellent Service even when we’re Leaving

Sad to say goodbye to this place and we would love to stay longer. However they are sold out sooo, we are going back to Canggu to face another traffic jam. Lol.

Anyway, the lady in the front desk is so nice and accommodating, keep asking if we want water or tea and she help us check the fare for the transport. While waiting for booking, the lady suddenly ask us if we can still cancel the one we book because they want to take us to Canggu for free. This is unexpected and we really appreciate it.

Overall, the total stay in Je Ne Sais Quio is remarkably one of our favorites! We might go back here again for a longer stay when we get back to Bali.
