14-day Stay at ETON Mini Suites – Was it Worth it?

ETON Mini Suites is located in Makati and is near lots of places. However, there are a lot of things I would like to talk about regarding this hotel. Just a quick disclaimer, all of the details I will share here is purely based on our own experience and does not reflect the experience of everyone, so please do research before making any decisions on whether book here or not.

First of all, the reason why we need to stay in Makati is not for leisure, but it is mainly for us to be closer to the embassy of Egypt while we work on getting visa.

Accommodation Summary

Our accommodation is from June 1-15, 2025 and we paid total of Php 29,567.36 for 2 guests. The Mini Suites offers pool and gym access as well that’s why we chose this place. First thing I want to talk about is the room itself. It’s the first ever hotel we ever booked that looks like it is for 1 person only! We paid for guests but here’s what we got:

  • 2 keycards, 1 goes to the wall to enable the power so we are only left with 1 keycard to use around
  • 1 mug only! On the first day I noticed this I asked immediately for extra mug but when they do the cleaning, they took it again, so we were left with just 1 mug
  • 2 in 1 shampoo & shower gel
  • Bad unstable internet access
  • No toilet paper within the hotel premises (only in room, you know when you go to bathroom in lobby)
  • The gym doesn’t have water dispenser, not many machines, just treadmills, bike and weights and not allowed if not wearing shoes
  • No food allowed in the pool, not many chairs
  • The receptionists are not friendly
  • Doesn’t replenish the water and coffee unless you ask

And those are just the highlights. Literally lots of issue we encountered. For one, they won’t clean unless you ask them to and not really replacing towels and sheets.

Anyway, the good part is, it is so close to everything! We are literally walking distance to lots of places like Greenbelt, Glorietta, SM, and some restaurants. Plus, walking distance as well to the embassy.

The area though feels like everything closes so early. By 6 or 7pm some shops are already closed which sucks so if you want to eat at night, you will be stuck with online ordering.

Non-refundable Policy

This sucks for real. We booked through booking.com and it was a very big mistake for us to book the 2 weeks straight in here without testing stuff first. When we found out that the place has lots of issues, of course, we think twice and wants to adjust the stay for just a week or cancel but no one is helping out. I mean, the stay is not that cheap so I think there should be something like this in the policy.

Anyway, they didn’t grant anything and even after all the complaining we have, they didn’t change anything and left the room as is. For the whole stay we had with them, we are always begging for water, coffee and reception doesn’t really answer the phone fast and left it ringing for so long.

Not Nomad Friendly

Unfortunately, the internet is not reliable, and I have been struggling the whole time I was there. We were in the 12th floor, room 1203 and the signal of internet keep dying. Even the backup internet they gave me is also not stable. I have to work near the bathroom because the signal there is a little better. I reported this to them many times and since I work at night, they keep saying that there is no IT to help. The following day they sent IT who did nothing but show to our face that the internet is working. The thing is it is not stable specially for working nomads like us.

Nothing done though. Just their rude people came and nothing.

Was it Worth it?

To be honest it can be good for 1 or 2 day stay if you just want to enjoy the pool, however, for a long stay like this, it is not worth it and not recommended. There are lots of places that offer better pricing and flexible options online and mini suites is not one of them, unfortunately. We booked this hotel while were on the way home from Bali (waiting in airport for flight) so we did it in rush without really thinking much so here’s what we got.

Anyway, I hope this helps! If ever you have any questions, feel free to let me know and I would be happy to help! My email is bailey@dahabpeakstravels.org.
